It takes time to develop customer success testimonials that translate into a convincing and exciting story for the reader.

As was the case during COVID, the successes business had with a product or service either remained consistent, adjusted to accommodate a new need or want, or died. It leads us to conclude that unless the products or services you provided during COVID were available and bought by your prospects and customers, your success stories are outdated.

If your company survived or pivoted, your pre-pandemic success stories are dated and not as compelling and should be updated to reflect the new successes your clients achieved during the pandemic.

Find the right story to tell

So indulge in a meaningful exercise for your business. Step back, and first and foremost, look at the success stories you are sharing with your prospects and customers. Are they current? Do they address the needs and wants you helped your customer with during the pandemic? If not, take the time to revisit the successes you are sharing.

During a recent collaboration meeting, my client spotted a trend in early 2021 that their revenue source had shifted. Clients saw a rise in transaction volume in a new channel than they had seen during the heart of the pandemic.

In some cases, this new channel’s processes and systems required a technology upgrade to process the demand, hence creating a new revenue source for my clients and a unique success story to tell their prospects.
